Supporting the Curation of Natural History in Yukon

Since 2004, the Yukon Research Center (YRC) at Yukon College has been working toward the curation of birds, bugs and plants with the focus of highlighting Yukon's natural history. With support from EDI, the collection is being prepared and organized and will eventually be made available to students, researchers and the public. EDI's Brett Pagacz (photo) has been providing her time and plant knowledge to the project. As an experienced and knowledgable botanist, she has been identifying and organizing plant species, mounting plant specimens, and entering species information into YRC's database. This project is a collabrative effort between Yukon Government, Government of Canada - Environment Canada, YRC and EDI. Please refer to Yukon College's press release for more information about this exciting project.
