Coarse Woody Debris Management in Yukon Forest

The Yukon Forest Management Branch was interested in the amount of coarse woody debris that would be the most beneficial to retain on blocks and landings following timber harvesting, in terms of nutrient cycling and wildlife habitat. EDI designed a multi-year field study on coarse woody debris quality and quantity to inform the development of a management strategy, including standards and guidelines, for coarse woody debris-associated biomass harvesting operations.
