This project for the BC Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategies involved developing Terrestrial Ecosystem Mapping (TEM) with Grizzly Bear Suitability Mapping of the Babine Forest Development Unit following RISC standards. One of the Project objectives was to support operational forestry activities by completing an assessment of the potential impacts of land use management to grizzly bear habitat supply and connectivity. Management recommendations were provided to guide forest development as well as ecosystem maintenance and restoration measures. An evaluation of the effectiveness of forest development activities associated with a timber harvested block in managing grizzly bear habitat was also completed.
