Development of a public use and recreation study in the Campbell Reservoir on Vancouver Island. The Campbell River Water Use Plan has as an objective to enhance and protect the quality of recreation and tourism amenities and increase the quality of recreation and tourism opportunities with sustainable carrying capacity. This was based on a desired reservoir elevation and river flow range for an estimated number of recreation days per year at key recreational locations. This project focused on improving the previous evaluations of recreation and tourism usage related to reservoir operations over an initial three-year period. Developed information gathering options, sampling design and locations, liaised with BC Hydro and government regulators, and data collection. Other responsibilities included public consultation and interaction, stakeholder engagement and presentation of findings.
