Spectra Pipeline

Spectra Energy (now Enbridge), in partnership with BG Group, proposed to build a natural gas transportation system originating from northeastern B.C. to serve BG Group’s potential LNG export facility in Prince Rupert. If approved, the pipeline would have had a 36 inch to 48 inch diameter and would have been approximately 850 km in length extending from Cypress in northeast BC to Ridley Island, near Prince Rupert. The system would have been capable of transporting up to 4.2 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day. EDI conducted Terrestrial Ecosystem Mapping, baseline studies for soil and vegetation, and rare plant surveys for the project.
