Cape Scott Power Project

The Cape Scott Wind Power Project is located on northern Vancouver Island. This 99 MW project is the first large-scale wind project on Vancouver Island. The scope of work included constructing 40 km of 138 kV transmission line from the project substation located at Port Hardy, upgrading 18 km of existing forestry road to accommodate heavy shipments, and construction of 33 km of site access roads. The scope also includes design and construction of foundations, electrical collector system, switchyard and turbine erection and commissioning. EDI conducted third-party environmental audits during construction to document compliance with the conditions of the EA Certificate, the DFO authorization and other related documents.
