About this opportunity:

We are looking for a driven individual who is keen on exploring many areas within the Yukon this summer completing breeding bird surveys. This is a term position for 4 months with a possibility of extension.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Planning and implementing breeding bird and nest surveys across Yukon and northern BC
• Contractor liaison
• Preparing summaries of results (i.e. letter reports)
• Completing fieldwork in other disiplines as needed
• Working effectively in a team environment
• Participating proactively in EDI’s health and safety program

We are looking for someone with:

• A love for the outdoor environment and a passion for continuous learning
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with enthusiasm for continual improvement
• The capacity to work in a dynamic environment with senior support

Job requirements includes:

• Comprehensive knowledge of Yukon bird species by sight and sound
• Diploma or degree in biology and experience in consulting would be an asset.
