Bird Specialist

Seasonal Position

Whitehorse, YT

We have an exciting opportunity for the summer 2025 season in Whitehorse, YT, for a Bird Specialist. This can be a full-time or casual position for a driven individual who is keen on exploring many areas within the Yukon this summer by completing breeding bird and nest surveys.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Planning and implementing breeding bird and nest surveys across Yukon and northern BC
• Contractor liaison
• Preparing summaries of results (i.e., letter reports)
• Completing fieldwork in other disciplines as needed
• Working effectively in a team environment
• Participating proactively in EDI’s health and safety program

We are looking for someone with:

• Comprehensive knowledge of Yukon bird species by sight and sound

Job requirements include:

• Flexibility and desire to travel to remote, amazing locations across the Yukon
• Diploma or degree in biology and experience in consulting would be an asset
