About this opportunity:

This is a permanent full-time opportunity for the position of Biologist or Agrologist in our Grande Prairie office. Our ideal candidate has in-depth experience as a Biologist, Agrologist or Environmental Scientist, with a specialty in fisheries, wildlife, wetlands, soils and/or vegetation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Conducting/leading field surveys including aquatic or terrestrial components of baseline inventories, effects assessments and/or environmental monitoring
• Conducting/assisting with data entry, analysis and technical reporting including permit applications, environmental assessments, environmental management plans
• Communicating with existing and potential clients leveraging your technical knowledge as opportunities arise in collaboration with the EDI team
• Participating proactively in EDI’s health and safety program
• Developing project scope of work and associated cost estimates
• Collaborating with the EDI team to execute proposals

• The aptitude to work collaboratively and effectively with junior, intermediate and senior staff of different disciplines, within teams on various projects of differing complexity, and with First Nations, sub-consultants and government agencies

Job requirements includes:

• Demonstrated experience leading a field crew for aquatic or terrestrial components of baseline inventory, effects assessment and/or monitoring surveys, subsequent data analysis and reporting
• Previous environmental consulting experience that demonstrates understanding of key provincial and federal legislation regulating industrial projects
• A Bachelor’s Degree or a Diploma in a related discipline and 3 years of related experience or a comparable combination of education and experience
• A professional designation (e.g., RPBio, PBiol, PAg or PGe.) recognized in Alberta and/or BC
• Class 5 driver’s license
