We are profoundly saddened by the discovery of the children’s remains on the grounds of Kamloops Residential School.
We send our deepest condolences and thoughts to the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation, as well as all Indigenous communities for the irreparable, tragic loss of their children.
We will never understand your grief and pain and there are no words we can say to ease your suffering. But we will not forget the unrealized dreams, lost generations, and unfulfilled hopes of your people.
We will honour their lost lives, and help EDI team members and their families to continue to learn about the Indigenous peoples of Canada. We are firmly committed to creating an environment of empathy, respect, recognition, and reconciliation.
