Cathy Mackay, Chief Operating Officer at EDI Environmental Dynamics Inc., was proud to present the Prince George Chamber of Commerce Environmental Leadership Award to Pacific Western Brewing at the 2019 Business Excellence Awards. The awards ceremony was held on Friday, October 18, 2019. This is the fourth year EDI sponsored a Business Excellence Award and the third year supporting the Environmental Leadership Award specifically.
“Sponsoring this award is meaningful to us at EDI, because the winner and the nominees are passionate about the communities they live in and contribute to a purpose larger than themselves,” states Cathy. This year, she presented the award to Cindy Hartford, Plant Manager at Pacific Western Brewing. Environmental initiatives by the brewery have included: beach clean-up campaigns, a wild salmon enhancement program, recycling of spent grains and organic waste, and reforestation. For the past two years, Pacific Western Brewing has undertaken the ‘Cariboo Cares’ project resulting in the planting of more than 170,000 evergreen seedlings.
