Contributing to Cancer-related Initiatives in Northern BC
EDI Environmental Dynamics Inc. is actively supporting the Canadian Cancer Society’s new Peace of Mind Campaign. The goal of the campaign is to reduce the nightly fee at the Kordyban Lodge in Prince George from $54 to $20 per guest. The Lodge was built for people in northern BC who need a place to live during their cancer treatments, which take place next door at the Centre for the North.
“By reducing the cost of the Lodge, including the food and emotional support it provides, we can take care of northerners so they can focus on getting better,” says Bob Redden, EDI CEO and Chair of the Peace of Mind Campaign. As of the campaign’s public launch on Oct. 1, 2019, over $250,000 had been raised towards reaching the goal of $450,000 by the year end.
Since 2011, EDI has raised close to $90,000 for the Kordyban Lodge from annual fundraising events, such as the EDI Charity Fishing Derby held at Purden Lake each spring. Contributing to the Canadian Cancer Society and Kordyban Lodge is a perfect fit for EDI because of the support they provide to residents in communities across northern BC, where EDI team members have worked over the last 25 years.
