EDI Celebrating 10 Years and a Move in Saskatoon

EDI Environmental Dynamics Inc. (EDI) is excited to be celebrating a decade-long presence in Saskatoon, a gem of a city in Saskatchewan that offers a wealth of business, recreational and educational opportunities.

Our journey in Saskatoon began in 2015 with our first team member, aquatic scientist David Hamilton. As explained by Dave, opening the office in Saskatoon followed the model used by Pat Tobler, current EDI Regional Director for the Territories, to establish the Whitehorse office: grow the office by hiring people who want to live in the community and gain technical expertise there. It was also based on the willingness of EDI to take a calculated risk. Dave states that “The opening of the Saskatoon office reflected the trust and working environment typical of EDI. I had been part of EDI in Prince George in the early 2000s. When the opportunity came up to reconnect with EDI and set up the Saskatoon office, it was an easy decision to reach out and discuss options. The collaborative environment and support for a fledgling office were critical in setting up a successful path for long-term development of the office.”

A major project for the Saskatoon office in these initial years was environmental monitoring associated with a local oil spill, which turned into one of the largest fish sampling programs on the North Saskatchewan River within the last 25 years. The new Saskatoon office also frequently supported other EDI offices, which it continues to do today.

Cameron Jackson, a terrestrial biologist and project manager, took the helm as EDI office lead in 2017 and went straight to work growing the team and expanding the types of projects staff worked on. Today, the EDI Saskatoon team is a diverse group of 12, featuring both terrestrial and aquatic biologists, project managers, a geoscientist, GIS and communications specialists and writing support professionals. Plans are in place for continued expansion over the next five years. Reflecting on the office’s journey, Cameron shares, “We started with one small office space at the Urban Equity Business Centre on College Drive. When we outgrew available space at this location, we moved to Cleveland Avenue in the north-industrial sector of Saskatoon, about the same time everyone in Canada was encouraged to work from home due to COVID. Those were challenging times, but we made it through and were able to build a dynamic, cohesive team of talented professionals.”

To accommodate our ever-expanding group, a move to a larger facility recently became essential. We are pleased to announce that as of September 2025, you can find the EDI Saskatoon office at:

Unit 14, 2345 Avenue C North

Our new home provides much-needed office space, ample storage and a vehicle bay. Its strategic location is a bonus, situated conveniently near the airport and many amenities like vehicle rentals, fuel stations, hotels, restaurants and bus routes.
