About this opportunity:

The HR lead will report to the HR Director and work closely with our Regional Directors to support our growing team. This is 15 months maternity leave coverage position with a possibility of extension. The person in this role will be a key driver of HR strategy and execution, aimed at an inclusive, supportive culture that nurtures innovation, personal and professional growth, and enjoyment of coming to work.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Recruitment and retention including job posting management, shortlisting, scheduling, and assisting interviews, employment contracts, onboarding oversight
• Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
• Collaborate with Director of Safety and Regional Directors on safety related investigations and reporting
• Encourage employee engagement in collaboration with the Regional Directors
• Performance Management (ensuring professional development plans are done and followed up on)
• Training Development support including assisting in the creation of training materials
• Benefits management
• Complies with federal, provincial and territorial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislations; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
• Work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other staff to meet project goals, while fostering a friendly and cooperative work environment
• Support other staff/projects within EDI

• Strong understanding of employment standards, HR principles, full-cycle recruitment is a must
• You are passionate about creating impact and delivering exceptional strategic HR
• You understand that culture is only as strong as the sum of its parts, and you’re all in on contributing positively
• Self-motivated and responsive, yet calm demeaner in a fast-paced environment

Job requirements includes:

• A post-secondary degree, ideally in business or an HR-related field
• Experience leading strategic projects and building consensus among multiple stakeholders
• Experience in processing payroll, developing and implementing training and development, diversity and inclusion, and/or employee engagement programs are assets
• Registration or eligibility for registration as a CHRP member is an asset
