Kwalsa and Upper Stave Group of Hydroelectrical Facilities

The Kwalsa and Upper Stave Group of hydroelectic projects is a cluster of six run-of-the-river hydropower facilities in British Columbia. Four of the projects are located in the Lillooet River watershed and two are in the Upper Stave River watershed, northeast of Vancouver, BC. These projects were built between 2008 and 2012 and have a combined maximum capacity of 150 MW.

Our Role in the Project

  • Providing input on habitat compensation options.
  • Development of the Operations Environmental Management Plan (OEMP).
  • Supporting the Long Term Monitoring Plan through fish density sampling, fishway effectiveness monitoring, invertebrate sampling and data analysis, aquatic and riparian footprint assessment and compilation of the LTMP baseline report.
