Environmental Impact Assessment - Casino Property

The Casino Property, owned by Casino Mining Corporation, is in west-central Yukon on lands administered by Yukon Government and is within the Selkirk First Nation traditional territory; the Tr'ondek Hwechin First Nation traditional territory lies to the north. The project has been submitted for assessment and is currently being reviewed by the Yukon Environmental and Socio-Economic Assessment Board (YESAB). The Casino Project consists of porphyry copper-gold-molybdenum deposits which will be mined via an open-pit.

Our Role in the Project

Complete baseline studies and environmental impact assessment to support the Project Proposal submission to the Yukon Environmental and Socio-Economic Assessment Board (YESAB); tasks include:

  • Investigation and assessment of vegetation and rare plants
  • Terrestrial wildlife and wildlife habitat studies
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) - project support and mapping
  • Ecological Land Classification
  • Terrain and soils investigations
  • Fish and fish habitat information review and field assessment
  • Bird and bird habitat studies
  • Aquatic habitat assessments
