Reducing our carbon footprint

May 21, 2015

In a world that relies heavily on carbon-based fuels for energy, transportation and consumable products, we believe that any measure to work towards reducing our reliance is a step in the right direction.

As part of an inaugural project by the Prince George Chamber of Commerce and UNBC, our office in Prince George learned first-hand what their carbon emmissions were and will receive recommendations on how to reduce them. The project, sponsored by CN, is part of a course offered through UNBC where students analyze carbon sources and highlight the emmissions from those sources. EDI is pleased to be part of this project and looks forward to researching and implementing carbon reduction strategies in the coming months. On another note... Many of our staff also like to get involved in Bike to Work Week. This national intiative to reduce carbon emmissions continues to be a very popular event throughout all of our regional offices. In Whitehorse, our Yukon-based staff take Bike to Work Week to another level; with carbon reduction in mind, they have developed their own commuter challenge which lasts the entire month of May.
